Contracted by the Ford Motor Company in 1963, Vince Gardner, one of the top automotive stylists in the country, designed the Cayuse. Vince headed an experimental design & styling section that offered a specialized service to Detroit manufactures. He dedicated approximately 750 hours to this project in hopes it would start a new trend for the future.
