The Falcon Showroom / November 1999

Well, the car show Season is pretty much over and we can look back and see some successes for Central California Falcons. We had our own class in two local car shows this season for the first time, the Muscle Car Show at the Museum and (of all things) the Chevys Limited show at Lake Ming. The Chevy’s Limited Club was nice enough to make a point of mentioning Central California Falcons during the trophy presentations. At the Falcon Western Regionals in Sacramento, our clubs had three Falcons in attendance and all three brought home a trophy.

In April of this year I got a ‘64 Falcon. We had seen the Falcon in the Camera Ads. The person I got it from did not want to trade for it at first, then a week went by and he called back and said he would trade. When we called back he said yes, so I traded a 84 GMC 4wd fullsize Jimmy for it. We bought the Jimmy for $4,000 and the car was $3,500. So then we went and looked at it and fell in love with it.

The person we bought it from put a 302 V8 in it, a C4 transmission, and a 9 inch rear end. He gave us disc brake for it, and factory air, and a set of 8inch rims. So we bought mags for the front, and tinted the windows When we bought the car it had 110,000 miles on it, and now as of October it has turned to 200,000 miles so I had to talk to my husband into getting me another car because I want my classic Falcon to be used more for car shows, so he bought me another car.

The only problem we have had with the car was putting 2 new tires on the front and changing the water pump before we went to the Tehachapi car show. Other than that the car has run perfectly. The only thing I have left to do to my car is fix the headliner.

I would never sell my car for anything. I have always wanted to be in car clubs, and now I am in one – thanks to everyone in the Central California Falcon Club for letting me join and for being so nice and welcoming us to your car club. I sure hope it stays around for a very long time, because I plan on staying an the club for as long as it exists.

Thanks

Trisha Caples
